The Un-move

Edited at 8:30 – After trying 7 times to get to my dashboard I am COMPLETELY fed up with wordpress and will be moving back to blogger.  The new home address for Bumps In The Road is http://1bitrcountrygirl.blogspot.com.  it really ticks me off that I actually had to do this after saying I wasn’t but things happen and like I said I am COMPLETELY fed up with it.  Apparently the new 2.6 version of WordPress is having a ton of problems too.  I wonder if the wordpress “gods” are even trying to fix it or not?!

I had commented on a couple of blogs about Bumps moving back to Blogger, but that is indeed not the case.  I tried for almost an hour to upload a photo for one post and it kept throwing me out so I won’t be moving at all.  I was wondering if anyone else out there using wordpress has been having troubles getting into their blogs?  I have been having problems getting to my dashboard after I log in and that is what prompted the possible move back to blogger.

It is SOOOOOOOO Tirade Tuesday!

Well I know this is a couple days late but better late than never right?  At work on Friday night we came as close to clean as we have in the past couple of months.  We left behind 3 repacks of H&B to be backstocked at the store and 10 vehicles to be backstocked at the offsite warehouse!

To be honest with you all I’m in a place right now mentally when it comes to work that is basically what I like to call “Why Should I Give a Flip.”  I don’t get out of bed on Friday – Monday to be taken advantage of by my fellow team members because I’m there until 7 in the morning.  This has been happening to me and my fellow 7:00ers for over a year now and I’ve finally gotten to the point where I just don’t give a flip anymore.  I’ve addressed the issue with both of my bosses and one has actually tried to do something about it but the new boss has given me nothing but grief about my frustrations since she got here.  So I’m just going back into “why should I give a flip” mode and pretend like I care.  This is a very sour subject for me as you can probably gather from this post, you’ll probably hear something similar to this later on too.

Makeover Monday….This week my “addiction” to hair dye

It’s Monday again.  To some it’s the beginning of the work week and to some like me and my brother’s fiancee it’s our Friday (TGIF to us!).  This week on Makeover Monday I’d like to discuss my “addiction” to hair dye.  I was 23 before I even dyed my hair the first time.  That first time I went to a shade of red called Burnt Sienna.  From there on I’ve been anywhere from Bleach/Platinum/Champagne blonde, various shades of red (for those out there who are thinking of going red it will cost a little bit more to maintain because it fades faster than most other colors…found that out the hard way.), brunette and right now I’m a bronzed brown that I’m really happy with called Brazilian Brown….It has some reddish highlights in it so it looks reddish but it’s not really.  If you look at my hair growth page you can see a picture of it….It’s the last picture on the page.

Have a great day everybody!

Odd News – NY man loses prosthetic leg while skydiving

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – An upstate New York man says he’s still upbeat despite losing the same leg twice. Scott Listemann told the Poughkeepsie Journal that he laughs about losing his foot and lower leg “both the first time and the second time.”

The Poughkeepsie man lost his leg below the knee in a November, 2007 accident. Listemann, 47, lost his prosthetic leg last month while skydiving in upstate New York.

The lower leg below the knee, with a foot clad in a running shoe, flew off after he jumped from the plane but before the parachute opened. Listemann says he’s sure “it will show up eventually.”

Listemann has distributed flyers throughout upstate Gardiner and hopes someone will find his prosthetic leg and call him.

Odd news – Woman attacked by kangaroo saved by pet dog

SYDNEY, Australia – An elderly woman was attacked by a large kangaroo on a farm in Australia and was lucky to be alive after a pet dog leapt to her aid, her son said Saturday.

The 6-foot-5-inch kangaroo lunged without warning at 65-year-old Rosemary Neal as she went to check on some horses in a paddock on the property near Mudgee, 160 miles northwest of Sydney on Friday, son Darren Neal said.

The kangaroo “just jumped up and launched straight at her,” Darren Neal said. “He hit her once and she just dropped and rolled. My dog heard her screaming and bolted down and chased him off.

“It wasn’t for the dog she’d probably be dead.”

Rosemary Neal was hospitalized for for deep cuts to her face, hands and back and a concussion, he said.

Kangaroos are widespread across Australia and there are dozens of species in the family, ranging from tiny, 17-ounce potoroos to Red Kangaroos, the world’s largest marsupial that can grow past 6 feet tall and weigh more than 200 pounds.

Most species are not considered aggressive toward humans, and attacks are extremely rare. But males fight each other for mates, rearing up on their tails to scratch at the soft belly flesh of their rivals with the powerful legs they more commenly use for their trademark leaps.

Darren Neal said mobs of kangaroos had become common on their farm and his mother thought nothing of walking through them in the paddock. Usually, they just jump away.

“My mum is 65 years old and about five-and-a-half foot,” he said. “Her whole body is sore where she has dropped to the ground.”

Added new photo’s and a Thank You

I just wanted to put out there that I have added some new photo’s to Bumps in the Road Photography.  Also, if you go over there and check out that blog you can pick any of those photo’s also as ones that could potentially go to the fair.  Basically any picture on here or there besides the one’s that I’ve added from other sites like satisfaction.com or mynicespace.com are fair game.  Also, I wanted to say thank you to all of those who have been giving me input on what photographs to take to the fair.  I really appreciate it a lot.  Have a great weekend everybody!

Thankful Friday

So here we are on week three of Blessed1’s challenge.  Here is what I’m thankful for this week:

1. I am thankful that I am NOT the one moving….moving isn’t exactly the funnest thing in the world to do to begin with but when you have less than two weeks until moving day and you don’t have a thing packed well that’s just NOT my cup of tea right there.

2. I am thankful for my days off of work.  Especially right now going into one of our busiest seasons besides christmas.  I get three whole days off to do as little as humanly possible and destress myself so I can get up and become stressed out for 4 whole days starting on Friday night.

3. Again I’m thankful that my vehicle still has a defunct battery in it.  It’s keeping me at home so I get the things that I need to get done here done.  Plus, my vehicle not working right now is actually saving me some money.  I carpool with my brothers fiancee cause we work at the same place the exact same shift….so all I’m really spending money on is my 1/2 of the gas for 2 weeks.

4. I’m thankful that my family is healthy.  You never know what tomorrow might bring so I’m really thankful for this one.

5. As I am every week, I’m thankful for my blogging buddies.  You guys are just AWESOME!

P.S. I should really write down what i’m thankful for so I don’t forget them by Friday!
